Exiger Compliance and Cognitive Computing Experts to Speak at International Compliance Seminar

On Wednesday, May 16, Managing Director Daniel R. Alonso and Director of Cognitive Computing Sandra León will lead discussions on "Artificial Intelligence in Compliance" at the Business Compliance Solutions: International Compliance Seminar in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Daniel will moderate the panel as Sandra joins HSBC's Head of Financial Crime Threat Mitigation ARG & Systems Delivery LAM Ricardo López to discuss the benefits and challenges of AI-powered compliance solutions. The panel is from 11:00am - 12:30pm (UTC-3).

He will also host a presentation, "Global Issues in Compliance" later that afternoon from 16:30pm - 17:15 pm (UTC-3), where he will explore the Criminal Liability of Legal Persons in the U.S. and the Explosion of Compliance.

Topics will include:

  • Criminal Responsibility in the U.S. (Theory and Law);
  • Policies and Practices in the U.S.;
  • Application to Argentina; and
  • What the future will bring.

Daniel R. Alonso is a Managing Director based in Exiger’s New York office, where he focuses on monitorships, investigations, and financial crime compliance (including anti-bribery and corruption). A lawyer and former high-ranking federal and state prosecutor and ethics official, he brings a distinguished enforcement career of more than 20 years to Exiger. At Exiger, Mr. Alonso has led monitorships, other third-party assignments, complex investigations, and compliance reviews. He also serves as Exiger’s General Counsel.
