Justin Rattino is a Senior Consultant based in Exiger’s New York office.
Justin joined Exiger from Thacher Associates (a subsidiary of K2 Intelligence), where he was a Forensic Accountant. In this role, he focused on public and private sector activity, such as carrying out comprehensive financial examinations of subcontractors in the New York construction industry. Justin focused on union benefits and pay, conducting due diligence of subcontractors, suppliers and vendors, and evaluated disaster relief claims for government agencies. Justin worked with a team forensic accountants on a multi-million-dollar international investigation, discovering the misappropriation of a corporation's resources. He provided litigation support for clients by compiling and analyzing financial data to determine future year projections and lost profits. Justin also gained experience in anti-money laundering (AML) by reviewing cases and alerts to detect money laundering, identity theft losses and terrorist financing.
Prior to this, Justin was a Financial Operations & Information Technology (IT) Analyst in the Internal Audit department at Brown & Brown Insurance. While there, he focused on ensuring the firm’s financial statement audits were in accordance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act, GAAP and B&B accounting guidelines. Further, he analyzed IT systems at each company location to ensure compliance. He began his career as a Staff Auditor at Lerch, Vinci & Higgins LLP.
