John Riggi

National Advisor for Cybersecurity and Risk, American Hospital Association

John Riggi, a highly decorated FBI veteran with nearly 30 years of service, is the first national advisor for cybersecurity and risk at the American Hospital Association. In this role, he helps hospitals and health systems address cyber threats and other risks while advancing policy and federal agency engagement. In 2024, he represented the nation’s hospitals during the Change Healthcare cyberattack, including testimony before Congress. A former FBI senior executive and New York S.W.A.T. team member, John received the FBI Director’s Award for Counterterrorism and the CIA’s highest honor, the George H.W. Bush Award for Excellence in Counterterrorism. He is also a frequent media commentator on cyber and risk issues.
