Cincinnati Enquirer: University of Cincinnati Names Maris Herold New Police Chief

Our team is excited to hear that University of Cincinnati named former Exiger employee Maris Herold as its new police chief this Wednesday. She is the first woman who will serve in the position in university history. Read the Cincinnati Enquirer article regarding Herold’s new role here. For more information about Herold’s goals and priorities for the department, read her interview with The News Record here.

Herold has been serving as the interim police chief since November when Anthony Carter resigned from the position after Exiger released a report that provides an in-depth asessment of the unviersity’s campus police department (UCPD), which also helped identified that Carter had behaved with alleged misconduct. Read the full report here.

Exiger was also chosen as the Independent Monitor of the University of Cincinnati Police Department in October 2016. Click here to read the full press release.
