Daily Mail: Fraud Squad Appoints Former FBI Woman as Director

Lisa Osofsky, Exiger EMEA Regional Leader and Head of Investigations, has been appointed to a five-year term as Director Designate of the UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in London, an independent agency that tackles economic crime. Her tenure will begin on September 3rd.

Over her impressive 30-year career, Osofsky has prosecuted more than 100 cases for the US government as a former deputy general counsel and ethics officer at the FBI before moving to the private sector. Osofsky was Exiger’s first hire in London nearly five years ago and has been crucial to establishing and growing our company’s global reach across seven offices.

In her newly-appointed role, Osofsky intends to lead “an emboldened SFO to even greater heights.” Just one month before her appointment was announced, the SFO said that its funding would rise by 50% in the effort to help it take on bigger cases. Lisa has said she wants to keep the agency independent from the National Crime Agency (NCA), Britain’s equivalent of the FBI, as Prime Minister Theresa May had considered dissolving the SFO and integrating it with the NCA. Lisa Osofsky’s insight, intelligence and expertise will rejuvenate the agency and reestablish its authority in tackling white-collar crime.
