
Daniel J. Kassa
Daniel J. Kassa is an Associate Managing Director within our Government Services business based in Exiger’s New York Office.
Experience
Dan joined Exiger from The Related Companies, where he was the Manager of Construction Audit for the $20 billion Hudson Yards project. In this role, he focused on internal control programs, labor compliance, and construction costs on the largest private development project in the United States of America.
Before this, Dan was a Project Manager and Director of Forensic Accounting and Advisory Services at Thacher Associates. While there, he led forensic accounting teams on integrity monitoring assignments for construction projects ranging between $100 million and $4 billion, owned by public companies, privately held corporations and public agencies.
He has conducted in excess of 100 job cost audits on both lump sum and cost plus GMP contracts with a focus on prevailing wage guidelines, change orders, contract compliance and procurement activities. Dan also served as the Project Manager on a number of M/W/DBE compliance engagements where he managed a team of forensic accountants, engineers and investigators in evaluating, revising and overseeing the implementation of compliance programs.
He has worked on some of the most notable projects in New York City including the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, National September 11 Memorial and Museum, and numerous MTA tunneling and station projects such as the 2nd Avenue Subway and East Side Access.
Dan has also worked at Marotta, Gund, Budd and Dzera, a boutique consulting firm, where served as a Project Manager, Project Executive and Chief Financial Officer on a number of ultra-luxury master planned golf community development projects.
He began his career at Callahan & Company, a public accounting firm acquiured by JH Cohn (now CohnReznick), where he worked as a forensic accountant on the World Trade Center Recovery Project following 9/11, which was one of the most significant integrity monitoring projects of its time.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from James Madison University and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from Rutgers University.
